happy halloween!

the girls have been counting down the days to halloween for weeks now. they were both very excited to dress up in their costumes! Hannah was Dora the Explorer. You can't see them in this picture, but the costume came with shoe covers that look like big Dora feet and those were taken off right after the picture. The wig made it until just before breakfast. Olivia was very concerned with staying true to character. She even napped in her crown because Sleeping Beauty sleeps with her crown on.

As soon as we got home, we went around the neighborhood trick or treating. It was good until someone answered the door in a mask. Hannah screamed and came running back down the walk. After that, she wouldn't approach the door until she could see that the person wasn't in costume. It was pretty dark and chilly so we only stayed out for about 30 minutes or so. Enough to get their buckets half full. Then we went home and made supper and Olivia was in charge of answering our door. She loved it! And they loved her, because everyone got a big handful of candy - as much as she could hold in one hand (and a couple of times two hands!) Hannah got scared the first time she saw a monster face at the door and that kept her in the kitchen the rest of the evening until it was time for bed.

In other news....my new group at work put together a song and dance show for our annual Halloween party and competition. We performed 5 songs from 5 different Broadway shows and had an awesome time doing it!
And to top it off, we won the coveted first place prize, which according to legend has never been awarded to the Tech Group. My part was the song Memory from CATS! and then I was in the finale number as well - Hello Dolly! Fun, fun, fun! :)

Sounds like you all had a wonderful and fun day. Love the girls outfits and yours is pretty awesome too Lisa. Wish I could have been there to see your team perform. Didn't Kelly have an outfit?

We laughed so hard when we read about Hannah being scared of the costumes and Monsters. They looked so cute, and so did you Lisa. What a production. I wish I could have seen it.
