Last Thursday Hannah had her first day of Kindergarten. She was crying before she got dressed. She was excited and geared up at the bus stop. And the she was crying again when it was time to line up on the playground. Her teacher was very good and took her by the hand to the front of the line. And you know what? When she came back out of school a few hours later, she was all smiles. She survived the "new" and is now just a little more grown up than she was the day before.
Olivia went into 2nd grade which is a little bit of a bigger deal because she is going to the W.H. school instead of here in town. It also means that the two girls won't be in the same building until they're in 4th and 6th grade. Bummer. But the good thing is that Olivia should always be on the same bus that Hannah is.
I know I stink at blogging consistently, so there's a lot of other things going on. Kelly got a pressure washer for his bday, so he has washed the deck and plans on staining it yet this fall. I can't believe what a difference it made! I knew the deck was dirty, but I had no idea how dirty. We continue to make other changes around the house. In the last three months, we've rearranged the office, the piano room (which includes the order of new(!) furniture), the living room, and all of the girls' bedrooms.
The garden has been great this year. The weather took out the sunflowers, and eventually the corn (just when I was getting very hopeful about it too!). But we enjoyed many meals of green beans, had fresh lettuce on our burgers, Alice and Kelly enjoyed snap peas right off the vine, and we are still getting carrots to munch on. We have more pumpkins this year, but they are smaller. Weird.

Love the picture!!! I'm glad Hannah is settling in at school. It is kind of scarey going to something new for the 1st time. I'm sure Olivia is doing fine, she's so out-going. Good luck with all the house projects, it's always nice to have something new or a change. As far as the garden goes, this summer has been weird, we notice a lot of different things going on in our garden. Later produce and the vine crops have a long way to go yet. It's been a cool summer so some things do great and other things need the heat. Oh by the way, have you seen summer? It was only here about 3 days, ha, ha!!
Wow, they are growing up so fast. Glad Hannah is enjoying school now, she will do very well. Hope Olivia like her new school and her bus ride to W.H. Looking forward to seeing everyone and hearing about their schools. Glad you are enjoying the food out of the garden.
