Wednesday

Today was Kelly’s free day so we had room service for breakfast and the breadbasket was so full with croissants and rolls that we were able to save some for lunch. It was nice to eat in the room with the patio doors open so we could smell the fresh air and look out onto the lake and mountains.

After breakfast we went back to the Olympic Museum for some souvenirs. Then we walked along the lake front enjoying the atmosphere. We decided not to try and rush around, but instead enjoyed looking through the shops within walking distance of our hotel.

We had to be back to the hotel so that we could check out at noon, so we finished off our breakfast rolls and then checked out. After that Kelly beat me in a game of chess out in the gardens. It was one of those large garden games where the squares are about 2 ft by 2 ft.

We then walked around some more, bought some souvenirs for the girls and some Swiss chocolates to bring home. Oh yea…we also had the pleasure of using a public restroom…that story just needs to be told in person.

At 4 we took a bus to the hotel we are staying at tonight. It is only about ½ mile from the airport, so we won’t have to get up so early in the morning. We ate dinner in one of the hotel restaurants – Carlights – and are both stuffed once again. Kelly had Lobster Bisque and Spaghetti with clams and I had Caesar Salad and Penne pasta with tomatoes and Basil. The Caesar salad was not what I expected – it was made with iceberg lettuce, cold bacon pieces, fish pieces, boiled eggs and Ranch dressing on the side. hmmm

Now we are in the room attempting a final pack job. When we flew out of the US, we got a max weight of 50 lbs for a carry on, but when Kelly flew out of Nantes, he was only allowed 20 kilos – so they really stuck him with an extra weight charge.

We will see you soon…pray for a safe an uneventful flight so that we arrive home as planned.

Oh, it sounds like you are having a wonderful time. The food, the scenery, room service so you can lounge and take your time. I hope the shopping was good. Thanks so much for keeping us updated, you'll have to remember to tell us about the restrooms!!!
